Today we have continued our Christmas celebrations! This morning we made beautiful Christmas cards for our families. We tried to create festive silhouettes and added glitter as a finishing touch!
At lunchtime we changed into our party clothes to share a buffet lunch with everyone! We enjoyed singing along to songs and ate lots of cake!
Following this, we had a KS1 party in the hall which included lots of energetic party games!
At the end of the afternoon we had a special visit from Father Christmas! We all had a fantastic day 👍
After researching about different materials earlier in the week, we have since turned those notes into sentences for some non chronological reports.
Within our non chronological reports we had to include:
- sub headings
Once we had written these in our English books we used the book creator app to write them up. We have also started to add sound buttons and pictures! We hope to finish them this week.
This morning we combined our English lesson with topic work about ‘Everyday Materials’. We worked in pairs or a small group to find out the following questions about a particular material:
What are the properties of the material?
How is the material made?
Which objects are made from this material?
We learnt how to make notes and researched all about the material we were given – wood, wool, glass, metal or rubber.
Later in the week we will start to write non chronological reports using these notes!
This morning we had great fun on mathletics. We were working on answering questions as quickly as possible in preparation for the Rainbow Awards which take place next Tuesday.
This afternoon we looked at the next 5 key words: fox, through, way, been and stop. We were set a challenge to write some outstanding sentences that had to include the key words. We also tried to use interesting adjectives, the power of three and a range of punctuation! Here are some of our sentences
